Daisy's Milk Shed at Attleborough Hall Farm, Norfolk

Attleborough, Norfolk, NR17 1YG

Drive to Attleborough Hall Farm to visit Daisy's Milk Shed in Norfolk and you'll often see the cows grazing alongside the drive. Daisy's Milk Shed sells their raw milk from a self-service machine on the farm. Raw means the milk hasn't been pasteurised or homogenised. After a day or so the cream rises to the top. Shake it back in, or just enjoy it separately. The family run the herd on a low-intensity system and are registered with the Food Standards Agency as raw drinking milk producers, which means regular testing and inspection. Raw cows' milk can only be sold at or from the farm it comes from, so you won't find it in shops. That's what the shed is for. Alongside the milk machine there's a milkshake machine with six flavours, all made with the raw milk, a raw milk coffee machine and shelves of local meat, eggs and baking. Glass bottles are on sale: take one home, wash it and bring it back to fill. Payment is contactless only. If you're further north, Abbey Farm Dairy at Binham sells raw milk from a machine too. Here, the distance between the field and the fridge is about the length of the drive.
